AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the official release, "An unusual encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The plot features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.
The adventure focuses on "strange tests and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who finish the adventure will receive an unique katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's latest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
Past Anime Crossovers
This represents scarcely the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally included a quest that obviously echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
